Fine-Tune Your Tone with the Barber Electronics Linden EQ Effects Pedal

Bass Players rejoice! The compact Linden E.Q. brings those golden tones of yesteryear to your modern bass rig, the Linden E.Q. captures the sweetest and most recorded bass E.Q. circuit in a simple foot operated box. The Barber Linden is a ultra high headroom device that employs a sophisticated power scheme to draw 25 working DC volts from a standard 9 volt supply, resulting in far superior headroom over a standard 9 volt powered pedal. The E.Q. circuit is derived from the great flip top amps that were manufactured in Linden New Jersey, our new pedal pays homage to these great portable bass amps and their excellent eq.

The Linden's eq is a perfect balance tight and powerful low band with a seductively sweet high band that is somehow "charmingly aggressive" without any abrasive shards that could offend. The new compact version has two toggle switches to allow you to choose from EQ curves for aggressive upper mids, open highs, or softer mids for aggressive playing styles, and the second toggle allows you to choose between normal, bright and tight input path. Improve your bass rig today with a Barber Linden E.Q.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Volume: Sets the overall level of the output for the Linden, it is located after the EQ circuit and provides a low impedance unbalanced output.
  • Treble: the treble control adjusts the high frequency content of the Linden E.Q, use this control to give your bass sound definition, or to roll back highs for a round full sound.
  • Bass: The bass control sets the content of low frequencies; this control is voiced to allow powerful bass that stays much tighter than modern E.Q. circuits, you can also use this control to cut bottom from basses that have unruly bottom end content.
  • Contour Toggle: This switch is on the left and gives you a choice of three EQ responses. The left setting is a classic vintage EQ with plenty of growl, the middle setting makes the treble control only active on higher frequencies so you can cut or boost "liveliness" of your sound. The right setting is reduced mids and cleans up "clanky" artifacts, this works great for aggressive styles that include slap and pop techniques, and also allows more aggressive setting of the treble control without excessive harshness.
  • Input Toggle: This switch is on the right and tailors the input filtering. Set to the left you have a natural full response with deep bass, set to the middle you have "tight mode", which allows you to be aggressive with the bass control without losing a defined sound. Switching to the right emulates the "bright input" on a vintage bass amp which is great for cleaning up the bottom of neck humbuckers, and also creating a throaty bass effect.
  • 4.4"x2.4"x1.1" enclosure
  • Powered by standard 9 volt - tip supplies.
  • Current draw 40ma

2 for 1!
Two iterations of an Ernest Hemingway classic short story. Burt Lancaster kicks it off with the 1946 version followed by the Lee Marvin led 1964 version. Both are great and plenty of criterion extras making this among my favorite spine in their awesome collection. There’s also a Russian student take on the short story adding a third version of a great story. Highly recommended and if it’s 50% a must buy. I already owned it and gave this as a gift who instantly called me two days later with high praise of the films.

A Favorite All-Time Classic
I've always enjoyed this classic film. Ava Gardner is my favorite all-time actress. She's great in the role of Kitty. Burt Lancaster is also fine as the torn man in love with a woman he struggles to have. This is based on one of Hemingway's short stories, and they did a fine job. Same with the remake in 1964 with Lee Marvin and Clu Gulagher. You will not be disappointed in either version, but my favorite is the orignal.

1 Ernest Hemingway story, 2 different movie takes, very cool.
I like value. Two movie versions of a cool story for the price of one, I am in. The Burt Lancaster version is film noir cool, while the Lee Marvin has that manic 60’s television feel. The Lee Marvin version gets bonus for Ronald Reagan’s portrayal of the heavy. He is quite menacing.
